Sometimes you stumble upon situations so awful that you can't help but burst out chuckling. It's like your brain tries to process the sheer extent of chaos and just resigns itself to fate, opting for amusement as a coping mechanism.
But then, you remember that it's not really actually that amusing. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a wistful, melancholic sound.
After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of confusion. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this intended to be funny?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with an case of bedhead hair. I couldn't make it to look right. As I was getting ready out the door, I stumbled and dropped my lunch all over myself. To make matters worse, I was extremely behind schedule for school.

It all started out terribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to run away and hide.
